Pagan Movie Night

Wellspring hosts Pagan Movie night on the first Friday of the month. This month, movie night is on July 4th. With Con, BBQs and fireworks, we are skipping it. We'll be back next month for it.

Pagan Movie Night is a way for us to foster community, support each other as pagans and have some fun. It's been mostly at my house (Lapis) but sometimes happens at Miel's. We like to gather about 7pm and start the movie shortly thereafter. Kids are welcome, unless the movie is not kid-friendly. So far, they've all been kid-friendly. We always have popcorn, water, tea, and milk available. Often times, I've ordered in pizza (including GF and vegetarian as attendees want/need), set up other snacks, and drinks.

On Facebook, I set it up as an event, poll for movie suggestions, and then send out a final post with what we are watching.

Sometimes, it is nice just to hang out and relax. This is one of the ways we do that.

Wellspring Coven & Grove

Small, but growing coven, focused on the teaching of BlueStar Wicca and the worship of the Gods. Our Trad is very similar to most British Traditional Wicca groups. We have a highly structured elevation path focusing on personal growth and development.

We are adults with families and work commitments who live full and well rounded lives. We are open to working with other similar adults and possibly their children. We allow and even encourage family participation once children are old enough to understand and not interfere with rituals.

Wellspring is highly focused on Personal Development and Personal Responsibility. Growth is a continuous path for us and we expect the same from others. Stagnation is not living.

BlueStar and Wellspring have several different ranks. We begin with visitors, then move on to student once the person is ready to begin learning more in depth. Then we have Dedicant, Neophyte, Initiate, Second Degree and Third Degree. At or after Third Degree, there is an additional Ordination Rite for those who want it. We expect that beginning at Dedicant, the person will spend a Year and A Day minimum at each level.

We believe strongly in the presence of mirth and reverence. We like to have fun in ritual. We don't take ourselves too seriously. Even the gods like to play!

Blue Star:

Blue Star is a Teaching Tradition and has a hierarchical learning structure, but with none of the "holier than thou" - the structure exists to facilitate learning and growth, not authoritarianism. Each Coven is autonomous, though all are connected through a "family bond" - we call our bi-annual get-togethers: Family Gatherings.
